From a Yorkshire estate. A Butlers chair, 1890

A 19th century Butlers Chair
£250.00
A beautiful and original Butlers chair from a Yorkshire House. This is a 19th century dining chair with ebonised banding and inlaid detail, with its original finish and patina.
I can just imagine this chair at the head of the table in the servants hall. Even without a cushion or padding (which it never had) it is surprisingly comfortable.
There is some evidence of old and inactive woodworm on a back leg, which has been treated. The chair is solid and firm with no movement in the arms, legs or stretchers. From inspection it is completely original the surface has not been altered.
